Math for Business and Life has several
valuable assessment tools to help instructors and students.
A Pre-Quiz, free of charge, helps evaluate the level of each
student at the start of the course. The questions cover basic
concepts; we predict that over half of students who take the
Pre-Quiz should be able to answer at least 80% of the questions
correctly. For questions missed, students are given page numbers
of the text to review. Instructors are provided with a summary
report that shows how each student did, as well as how many
students missed each question. The summary report should provide
a basis for how much time instructors should spend reviewing
each of the basic concepts for each specific class. If you
are an instructor who is considering using Math
for Business and Life at your school and would like to see the Pre-Quiz
questions, send your request to
Student Tutorials, free of charge,
provide a fun way for students to sharpen
their skills. Students select a chapter and
answer questions to see what has sunk in.
Students are given a chance to re-do the
questions they miss and are shown the correct
answer if they ask.
Homework Assignments are provided in two formats: (1)
a printed booklet, and (2) an online auto-graded format. The homework questions mirror Chapter Review Problems (found at the end of each chapter); if students are having trouble with a certain homework problem, they can refer to the corresponding Chapter Review Problem and solution. This means less frustration
for students and less time required by instructors. Our online
auto-graded homework results in less time for instructors.
There is a nominal charge to students. Instructors are provided
with a summary report for each class. If you are an instructor

and Life at your school
